Block Play for Young Children

Unit Blocks are a perfect way to nurture all kinds of learning , and build self confidence. We will look at the history of this versatile part of the early childhood curriculum and learn about the role of block building in the traditional kindergarten. We will see how to structure a block area to maximize learning and minimize conflict and examine the role of the teacher in supporting the mathematical, social and language learning that occur during the course of children's block play. We will also generate some low cost ideas for creating your own optimal block space for the children under your care. And we'll get to play with blocks!
