<font color="#a901db">Child Growth and Development with a Focus on Autism</font>
Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) are developmental disorders characterized by difficulties in social interaction, verbal and nonverbal communication and restrictive, repetitive and stereotyped patterns of behaviors. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) around 1 in 88 American Children is on the autism spectrum. Because autism affects each individual differently and to varying degrees providing care for a child diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder can be challenging.
During this Videoconference training you will learn what autism is, some common signs of autism, what causes it, and how it is diagnosed and treated. Experts in the field will share their knowledge about the disorder and provide you with things you can do to help the child on the autism spectrum in your program.
