When you think back to your experience in Kindergarten you may have fond memories of making new friends while your teacher read you books during story time, sharing or swapping snacks with your classmates, or coloring pictures with crayons. But times have changed. Kindergarten children are now expected to complete tasks that we were asked to complete as first graders. Less time is spent in Kindergarten on providing opportunities for children to develop their social skills and learn how to navigate the school setting while more emphasis is being put on learning reading, writing and math skills from day one.
Join us for this Videoconference training where we will bring you up-to-date on the state of Kindergarten. We will also provide you with ideas for math, science and literacy activities you can do with the young children you care for to help them be better prepared for success when they enter elementary school.
