This training explores the five domains of child development and their importance, developmental milestones and typical development, and the identification of the “Red Flags” concerning a child’s development. Procedures for observation, assessment and documentation to help identify developmental delays and disabilities are included. A DVD, “NY Loves Safe Babies” includes information about shaken babies, SIDS and TBI. This training provides strategies staff can utilize when conferencing with families about developmental concerns. Information concerning referrals to Early Intervention and Preschool Special Education is
included.
