Professional Development Opportunities

Check This Out!

Beginning in January 2017, we will be providing Training Reward Cards. Providers should bring their Training Reward card to each training they attend. Their card will be stamped at each training and after the 5th one, you will receive a voucher for a FREE training, good for up to 6 months from date of issue.

Training News!

Beginning in September, we changed our training format; in Dutchess, we are now offering workshops the first and third week of each month, except for holiday months. The workshops will continue to be held from 6:30-8:30 pm and the cost remains $20 for partners and $25 for non-partners, unless otherwise noted. They will be held in our Dutchess Office, unless otherwise stated. You must register in order to attend; payments must be made prior to the night of the workshop.

In Dutchess, we had two providers (FDC and SACC) present a training in October. In appreciation of their presentation, the providers were each given a voucher to attend a free training within a six-month time period. We are looking to include more providers as presenters in the future. We are also reaching out to new presenters – local agencies, educators, etc. to add a variety of new trainings for our providers. If you or someone you know is interested in participating/presenting a training, please contact Darla Fulmer at (845) 473-4141 x 216.

As of now, in Putnam, a monthly workshop will be offered. Due to a lack of a training space, these workshops will be hosted at various centers around the county.

Additionally, there will no longer be three training calendars sent; a professional development calendar will be sent out each quarter, reflecting the trainings offered for that quarter. Moreover, as of January 2017, the Distance Learning trainings are no longer available; this is due to a change in the requirements for Distance Learning trainings.
